Small living room ideas, Sometimes residences are designed to have an enormous room of more than 160 square feet area. However, this big room can be very small when you realize that you need it as a living room, working office and dining room. With such an open room there must be a careful plan to use scale and proportions, and proper lighting to define separate sections in this small living room. An L shaped living space can be separated into three sections as following:
1) Living Room: Choose a small L-shaped sectional with a left-arm or right-arm chaise to use a corner. Determine the orientation of the sectional by knowing where the living room window is so the smaller side will be below the window. Use the living room space in front of the sectional by placing a small coffee table that has hinges to reveal two personal tables when needed. The small living room area can be brightly lit with a floor lamp with an adjustable arm. The small living room can stand out from the other rooms with the use of an elegant area rug. A living room needs an entertainment theatre, and this can be custom made by changing a smaller dresser to become a media console.
2) Dining Room: The small space given to the dining room can provide seating to lots of people by the use of a round table instead of a rectangular one. A vintage brilliant look to this small room can be granted by brown leather dining chairs and lamps on swag hooks.
3) Office Room: Both the dining area and living room can be separated from the apartment’s entry and private office by two pairs of ready-made bookshelves. The living room separating bookshelves’ backs can be decorated by wallpaper.
Search for a help of living room designer if needed. Don’t bother schlepping sofas, chairs, area rugs and desks up many stories if they don’t fit. Hence, always carry with you a tape measure to make sure that the furniture is small enough to fit the living room and can easily enter the building and its elevators.
